What we collect when you order from TheResearchScribe, why we need it, and who else handles it.
Last updated 11 October 2026
In short
- We use your details only to quote, invoice, deliver and support your order.
- We do not sell or rent them, and this site runs no advertising or tracking tools.
- You can ask us to correct or delete what we hold at any time.
Who we are
TheResearchScribe is an independent research and writing practice. When this page says “we”, it means the practice that runs this website and carries out your order. You can reach us at the.researchscribe.live@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +44 7882 506955.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address and a password. The password is stored in scrambled form; we cannot read it. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture, and nothing else. We never see your Google password.
- Your order. What you ask for (the type of work, its length, style and deadline), your brief, and any files you attach, plus the time zone your device is set to, so the times we send you are in your own local time.
- Your invoice details. Your name, email address and country, and, if you give them, your company, website, billing address, phone number, tax or VAT number and purchase-order reference.
- Your messages. What you send us by email or WhatsApp, the revisions you ask for, and any review you leave.
- On your own device. Your browser’s storage keeps you signed in, remembers which of your notifications you have read, and holds a half-finished order for up to three hours, so it is not lost if the page reloads. We set no advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To price your order and carry it out to your brief.
- To send you your invoice and its payment link, and to confirm when it is paid.
- To deliver the finished work, handle revisions and answer your questions.
- To keep the accounts and tax records any business must keep.
We do not sell or rent your details to anyone, and we do not use them for advertising.
Who else handles it
We rely on a small number of established services to run the practice. Each one receives only what it needs for its part.
- Supabase
- Stores your account, your orders and your files. Each client can open only their own.
- Payoneer
- We enter your invoice details there to create your payment link. You pay on Payoneer’s own pages, so we never see your card or bank details.
- Signs you in, if you choose “Continue with Google”. We also use Gmail for email.
- Turnitin
- Checks the finished work to produce the AI and plagiarism report that comes with your order.
- Carries your messages, if you choose to contact us there.
Like any website, opening this one means your browser contacts the companies that host it and deliver its fonts and code (our web host, Google Fonts and jsDelivr). They see your internet address, as they would for any site you visit.
Samples on this site
The samples in our archive are past projects. The client’s name, institution and dates are removed before a sample is shown.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, orders and files for as long as your account is open, so that you can download your work again whenever you need it. If you ask us to close your account, we delete it together with your orders and files, keeping only the invoice records we are required to keep for accounts and tax.
How it is protected
Your orders and files are private to your account: the database itself refuses to show them to anyone else. Files are opened through links that expire shortly after they are made, and connections to the services above are encrypted.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days. If you signed in with Google, you can also remove TheResearchScribe from your Google account’s connected apps at any time.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
